The Hayman family and its forebearers have supplied this very same bright and robust gin to both the British Admiralty and trade from 1863. Based in London, they delivered to the Royal Victoria Yard at the Royal Dock, the largest of the three Admiralty Victualling Yards. The Royal Dock, located in Deptford on the Thames near London, was established in 1513 by Henry VIII. Over the following four centuries the Royal Dock became a storied location and the point of departure for some of the most significant ventures in British naval history. From these voyages onward, this gin has travelled the world over.
|The original company of Hayman Distillers was founded in 1821 and acquired in 1863 by James Burrough, the great Grandfather of the current Chairman, Christopher Hayman. James Burrough created the world renowned Beefeater Gin. Although Beefeater Gin and James Burrough Limited were sold to Whitbread in 1987, the Hayman family retained part of the business and continued the tradition of distilling and blending Gin and other white spirits.
